Register Here for July 18 Online Meeting
This will be an “Ask Me Anything” meeting.
Dear friends,
Our next meeting for paid subscribers will begin at 1:00 pm Eastern time, Saturday, July 18.
If there is interest, we could begin with questions you might have concerning the article by Kaitlyn Tiffany about me and my forthcoming book that appeared July 9 online in the Atlantic. Not surprisingly, such a short article did not present much nuance. It focused mostly on the disagreement between me and Jonathan Haidt about causes of the rise in teen anxiety beginning around 2010 and generated, so far, over 240 comments, mostly (not surprisingly) negative about my views. Then we could move on to questions about anything having to do with the various themes of Play Makes Us Human.
If you would like to pose a question in advance of the meeting, so I and others can think about it beforehand, feel free to do so in the comments section to this post, available to paid subscribers.
The rest of this letter (below my name), which includes the link necessary to register for the meeting, is open to paid subscribers only. You can unlock that portion, and register for the meeting, by becoming a paid subscriber now (for $50 a year or $100 for a “founding subscription”). I donate all funds that come to me for paid subscriptions to nonprofit organizations aimed at bringing more play and freedom to children’s lives, so the money goes to good causes.
With respect and best wishes,
Peter
